Tried browsing from within scaler 3 standalone as well as dropping the files manually in the ProgramData location, wont show in Scaler 3, any ideas?

I am also trying import my chord sets from scaler 2. The file format on my windows computer says microsoft html which is technically .xml. Donāt know if that is the issue in anyway. But would really like to be able to easily transfer over a ton of scaler 2 presets I made and edit them with the new features in the new version.
Scaler 2 sets are not importing into Scaler 3 on Macbook M1 Max, Ableton 12, Sonoma. File selected, nothing happens. Not a good start. Also, and equally as concerning, it seems Scaler 2 sets have to be imported manually, on-by-one? Please tell me this isnāt so. Yikes.
I think we havenāt communicated this well so we need to make a video.
Firstly you have to export from Scaler 2 as āSave Individual Patterns as Chord Setsā Remembering we donāt use multi-patterns in Scaler 3. Next just drag that folder into scaler3/chordsets and it will appear in your user folder.
You can import user chord sets one by one into the user folder. However imperfect it may be, itās a way better system than Scaler 2 which drove our users crazy!
Please implement a way to import all chord sets at once - we were years onto scaler 2, and there are hundreds of chord sets on many of our boxes. One at a time, again, is a ghastly waste of time.
For that reasonā¦ Iāll continue using Scaler 2 with my old projects, and now Iām working with Scaler 3 for new themes. Creating a simple button in the preferences that activates a function called āscaler 2 projects directoryā would be great for importing into Scaler 3.
Anywayā¦I think they have It in mind, but I think they are very bussy with the Bugsā¦
Importing "patternsā of 8 chords, one-by-one. is an inconsiderate, archaic waste of time for advanced composers to get their work from scaler 2 into scaler 3, After such a long time waiting for this update. Hundreds of compositions (not patterns. Compositions), many with, obviously, dozens of chords in long, developed progressions. not loopy patterns of 8 chords. Very disappointing.
I asked about this in my own post, but didnāt get a reply.
I am on Windows 10 Pro, and just tried this and it worked. No tedious One by One saves.
Go to the ProgramData Folder (Unhide if Hidden) - Scaler Music - Scaler 3 - Chordsets - Imported.
Drag your Scaler 2 chord set folders in the Imported Folder, or Copy/Paste the folders, so as to leave the Originals where they are.
You might have to create the Chordset Folder and Imported Folder if you donāt see them. Or Import One chordset via Scaler 3, and it should create those Folders
Hi Studio-dbfx, thank you for the try on this, I appreciate it very much. I am unfortunately on a Mac M1. I also think it speaks very loudly that you didnāt get a reply to your original post. Just bad news all around for mac users with many chord sets of large compositions.
I think looking at @davide post, it should still work with what I described. They looked to have the same folder structure.
This workaround unfprtunately does not work on a mac.

A nightmare is an understatement. Such a massive oversight is hard to digest. @davide please respond, this needs to be addressed.
Yeah I donāt see myself using Scaler 3 until this is resolved.
I just want to import my Scaler 2 chord sets into Scaler 3 to check if the sustain pedal latching issue has been sorted at last - but I am not able to import my Scaler 2 chord sets. It ought to be as simple as it suggests in the Scaler 3 User Guide - but it is far from it. Help.

Itās so thoughtlessly implemented, itās laughable. You have to manually export chords sets one by one from scaler 2, and then manually import them one by one into scaler 3. I donāt think Iāve ever seen a matriculation of a feature thatās as tedious and poorly thought out as this one. Youāre not alone.
I have to agree, it is a remarkably tedious procedure. I had a naive assumption the upgrade would work like a DAW where project info automatically carries over. It is disappointing to have to go about it this way, and exceedingly time consuming. I tended to save chord sets as sessions, so I will have to go back and do this for everything basically.
I think the problem here relates to where the āchordsetā folder is on Mac.
It is in the hidden User Library, so cannot be found when searching. You need to option-click on the Go menu in the Finder which will reveal the Library as a destination in the drop down.
In that Library if you go to Scaler 3 you can find the chordsets folder. It had me confused but now it works well.
