First off, I want to say how much I really appreciate having the visible timeline feature across each view in Scaler 3.3 — it’s a great addition to the workflow!
I’m currently running Scaler 3.3 on the latest macOS on an M1 Mac Studio, and I’m encountering a major issue when trying to organize chord progressions for full song arrangements:
Missing / Broken Slip Editing (Insert Mode): When moving or copying scenes, slip editing doesn’t seem to work. Instead of sliding into position on the timeline and shifting surrounding content, the copied scene simply replaces/overwrites existing material.
Having true slip editing (or an insert mode) where moving or pasting a scene dynamically pushes existing blocks down the timeline—rather than overwriting them—would make arranging full songs significantly faster and less frustrating.
Is this a known bug with the new 3.3 timeline alignment, or is a slip edit / insert function planned for an upcoming update?

We’ve added your notes about the scene alignment behaviour to the known zooming/alignment issue, so our devs have that additional context while they investigate.
As for the slip editing/insert mode idea, it’s definitely something we’ve been discussing internally based on user feedback. Improvements such as Insert Scene at Playhead Position and Replace Scene at Playhead Position are among the ideas we’re considering.
We’re hoping to have an update out in the near future that addresses the zooming/alignment issue, and we’ll share more details on any scene positioning improvements as plans are finalised. Cheers!

I’m really glad to hear you’re looking into slip editing and scene management features like “Insert at Playhead.” I was actually in the middle of recording a video review of the Scaler 3.3 update, but ended up having to scrap it when arranging a full song became too cumbersome without proper scene sliding/inserting.
Adding slip editing will be a huge workflow improvement for songwriters. My main goal with Scaler is to build complete chord progressions and map out distinct song sections directly within the plugin before bringing everything into my DAW for the final mix. Smooth scene editing on the timeline will make that process seamless.
