Upon opening a new instance of standalone scaler 3, the chords are shown to be bound but the keys are not yellowed out and I can’t play the chords. then i need to unbind the chords and bind them again, then it’s good
Hi @Vst3 this is not something I’ve been able to replicate in Scaler 3.1.2, however it has been an issue in much older builds. There is another user reporting this in 3.1.2 so we will continue to investigate, however their issues seem to stem from another issue which has been addressed and will be resolved in an upcoming 3.1.3 build. So perhaps this will resolve your issue too.
Out of curiosity, are you on Mac OS or Windows? You may also like to try deleting the standalone state file. You can find instructions for this at the bottom of the Known Issues forum page.
Okay, I think we have this one figured out. It shouldn’t, but Scaler 3 saves the BIND state as a default when you ‘save as default’ in settings- so to resolve your issue go to settings, unbind the section that is bound and ‘save as default’ - from there, you should be good. We’ll get this fixed.
It’s fixed!
The only other thing I’m missing in scaler for me is - It would be great if I could bind the chords through two octaves instead of just one…. if i copy chords to C section then I can spread them through two octaves but then they are playing together with my track in cubase because they go automatically to arrange page…would be great to just have them there to be able to play them.
Can Sketch Page not achieve that? We are going to introduce keyswitches there and the ability to select more than one progression which will lay them across the keyboard which will be exactly what you want…. I think!
Hi @Vst3
“Save as Default” in Bind area incorrectly storing Bind On state has been fixed in Scaler 3.2.
Keyswitches have been reintroduced, allowing you to keyswitch between lanes on all pages outside the Browse Page that feature multiple BIND buttons – for example, the Sketch page. You can also bind Scenes on the Browse Page to trigger only chords within a Scene via MIDI. Hopefully these additions help move things a bit closer to the workflow you’re after.
Download the 3.2 installers from Plugin Boutique (under My Account) or from Scaler Music (under My Products).
You can check out the complete changelog and a video covering the new features here.
Cheers.
