I just installed Scaler 3.1.1 and had to kill the “plugin scanner” task as it never finished…

Hi @hairyMug this isn’t an issue we’ve heard reported or are able to replicate in Scaler 3.1.1 on Windows 11. Presumably you’re talking about the optional plugin scan which runs at the end of the installation. Did the 3.1.1 installation complete successfully nontheless?
There are occasionally permissions issues which can arise on Windows preventing the plugin scan from completing successfully however these usually result in an error 2 message. These can be temporarily resolved by right clicking on Scaler 3 standalone and choosing run as administrator. So if you have any ongoing plugin scan issues this would be worth trying.
after I killed the “plugin-scanner” the scaler install finished OK…
Note: I just installed on my laptop and got an “error 2” from the plugin scanner, but scaler installed ok…
As for permissions, I am always in “admin” mode..
All my VSTs are not in the standard dirs…
