In the VST3 version of Scaler 3 (v1.07) the current scale in section B changes to C Major regardless of what scale the chord progression is in as soon as you trigger notes with a midi keyboard. Actually, playing any midi notes changes the Key to C Major not just when triggering chords (i.e. no Bind is required for this to happen)
This does not occur in the standalone version and it does not occur if you use the mouse to click on the yellow trigger keys. It also does not occur in the VST2 or AU versions so this appears to be limited to the VST3 version.
To reproduce this error:
- Select one of the Artist Chord Sets, for example Alexkid Light which is in Db Lydian Mode
- Play any key from your midi keyboard (with or without Bind engaged)
- Scale changes to C Major
DAW:
Studio One V6.6.4
M1 Macbook Pro
MacOS 12.7.6
Hi @Unlistenable, thanks for the detailed report. We’re not able to reproduce this error using Ableton Live on Mac OS 15. We’d typically suggest a clean install and reboot, however you’re saying this isn’t happening with AU or VST2 plugins. Which is very odd.
You’re saying that all you need to do is play any note on your MIDI controller into the Scaler 3 plugin and it switches to C Major? And this happens in a completely empty Studio One session with no other tracks or plugins?
Is it possible there is something specific about your particular Studio One / MIDI configuration causing this issue?
Hi Tristan,
Thanks for your quick response. It must have been something specific to the particular Studio One / MIDI configuration I was using at the time because now I cannot reproduce this error any more.
Sorry for the false alarm. You can call this issue closed.
