MuseScore Support

Scaler 2 worked fine (which I still have and so it is not a show stopper at present)

This is actually what I was most anxious to get Scaler 3 for as Scaler 2 will only play the built in instruments in MuseScore.

It lets you add the other instrument VSTs but none of the patterns will work. It only plays the original chord. It doesn’t matter if the instance is in DAW sync mode or not.

Sorry, I should have added…

MuseScore 4.5.1 and MacOS 15.3.2. M4, 16GB ram.

Normally, I have either chords on the staff or have them as chord symbols. In Scaler 2, either one works fine.

Still not working in 3.0.1

The plugin gets loaded and plays chords with the selected instruments. It just will not play any of the different motions/performances and such.

Just for fun, I loaded up Scaler 2 as the instrument for Scaler3 and it worked as expected.

Still not working in 1.0.6

Hi @DavidK, thanks for your posts. What you’re describing isn’t considered a bug, but rather a current limitation in compatibility. Scaler 3 runs on a different codebase, so certain behaviours that worked in Scaler 2 don’t automatically carry over.

I’ve moved your post to the Feature Requests section, so we can keep MuseScore support in mind for future updates. We appreciate your feedback, cheers.

Cool.

I can always work around the incompatibility with Logic. I just prefer working in MuseScore for dynamics and articulations. They are so civilized.

Thanks for getting back. It is a pretty niche usage and other fires need putting out.
