Hello,
Loving Scaler 3 so far, but…
When loading my own plugins into Scaler 3, the mousewheel will not work within the plugin interface in most cases. I only found one other thread where someone mentioned similar behavior but their message was lost in the noise of talking about host crashes in that thread so I am not sure if this has been understood or discussed. I verified mousehweel was working fine when the plugins were loaded directly into hosts without Scaler 3. All loaded effects or VST I tried were of VST3 format. Computer was rebooted after initial install.
- I replicated this mousewheel failure for Scaler 3 plugin interfaces in these hosts: Maschine, Cakewalk, Reaper.
- I tried the following plugins which all failed to have mousewheel work as it normally does: NI Kontakt 8, Massive X, U-he Diva, Dune 3, Arturia Collection X, many effects, etc…
- The only plugins I could get mousewheel to work with when loaded into Scaler 3 were Waldorf Largo and Sylenth1; both happen to be quite old but are still VST3.
- Windows 11, all up to date on drivers, etc.
We really need mousewheel to work within plugin interfaces, as selecting presets, or making settings in plugins is very tedious with mouse clicks only. Most modern plugins have browsers for example, and some scroll vertically while others horizontal, and not all have consistent keyboard support so mouse wheel is needed. Many synth and effect plugins support moving controls with mouse wheel. I consider mouse wheel passed to plugin interface a standard part of any VST host. Is this a bug? If not considered a bug, please add this to Scaler 3 so it is consistent with all other VST hosts and plugins are not a challenge to work with.
