I’m working through the tutorials on YouTube, (Logic 11.0.1, on Intel Mac) and twice now the Logic project has reset. Not crashed, reset. I’d almost completed the first tutorial, and was to the part where you replace the chords in the longer progression, and of a sudden everything was gone, and I was looking at brand new Logic project, with no instance of Scaler in the instrument slot. And I’d been dumb, and hadn’t been saving, so did it again, and saved after every little thing I did, and got to the same part, and it happened again! As if I hadn’t saved anything. Once again I was staring at a totally blank Logic project. Has this happened to anyone else? Maybe it’s an incompatibility with an Intel Mac?
Firstly, there’s no known incompatibility between Scaler 3 and Intel Macs. Some members of our team use Scaler 3 regularly on Intel-based machines running Logic without issue.
I haven’t heard about a scenario quite like what you’re describing, where Logic appears to “reset” the project entirely. It does sound more like a Logic-related issue than something directly caused by Scaler 3.
Unfortunately I don’t have a clear solution to offer, but one suggestion: if you try the process again, it might be helpful to run a screen recording. That way, if it happens again, you can refer back to the footage to help pinpoint what occurred, or even share it here in case others have seen something similar.
Perhaps another user in the community might recognise this behavior and be able to offer further insight. Cheers.
