I had an idea to make a cord progression.
And then create a matching bass line and also create from this cord progression an performance
I copied the result to 3 Bitwig tracks
The original Cord progression is 9 bars (track 1)
The bass part is also 9 bars (track 3)
The Performance track is 12 bars, so 3 extra bars!
No it is difficult to combine them.
Why does the performance give extra bars?
Do I do something wrong?
I thought to include screenshots, but I was not able to add them!
Hi @Ghaven welcome to the forum. Apologies I’m having trouble following you here. It sounds like:
You have created a 9 bar chord progression in Scaler 3
Then created a bass track in Scaler 3
Then created a performance track in Scaler 3
Is that correct?
But you say:
Would you mind explaining what you mean here? Did you drag the clips from Scaler 3 into tracks in your DAW?
You should be able to upload images here, however if you could share a video it would be very useful. You may need to host the video somewhere else e.g. Google Drive, and share a link here.
Hello Tristan,
Thanks for the reply.
I will try to be more clear.
I have created a 9 bar cord progression, selected the 9 bars and dragged them to a track in my Bitwig Daw, this resulted in 9 bars (as expected)
Then I also create a bass track and dragged that to my DAW (also 9 bars).
From my 9 bar cord progression I generated Performance (Avant garde 1).
I selected the 9 bars in Scaler and dragged them to a third track in my Daw.
But it was not represented in 9 bars but was extended to 12 bars !!
Again I tried to upload screenshots, but got an error message:
“Sorry, there was an error uploading Scaler with performance.jpg. Please try again.”
Scaler with performance.jpg was the name for the screenshot.
So in short a 9 bar cord progression using a performance results in more then 9 bars.
I hope it is more clear now.
Unfortunately this is not something I’m able to reproduce, where dragging a clip from Scaler to the DAW results in a longer progression. In the image below you can see all clips remain their correct length (in this case 9 bars) when dragged to Ableton Live. Presumably Bitwig is no different.
Could you please ensure you have updated Scaler 3 to version 1.0.7?
If so there must be something I’m not understanding so you may need to share a link to a video of what you are doing. Again a cloud drive may be the best option if you are unable to upload here. You can DM me the link if you’d prefer.
Thanks for your help!
I had version 1.0.2 and upgraded to 1.0.7.
The issue is now solved!
Most software gives a pop-up with a message that an update is available, it seems that Scaler 3 does not have this feature (at least not in version 1.0.2.)
So I have to check for updates myself I guess!
Glad that it is solved!
