Bass line: midi drag into Bitwig goes a bit wonky

I’ve got my chord progressions in the Sketch pad area, and midi-dragged them into Bitwig. All good so far.

I now want a bassline, the Expressions - Bass - Common Bass - Basic - Basic 2 is one I like, nice and simple for the simple things I do. I’ve set the Motion on the first 8-bar progression to Bass - Common Bass - Basic - Basic 2, and it plays the bass line fine in Scaler. I then select the 8 chords and midi-drag them to a Bitwig clip… and they go crazy… in Bitwig it is 11 bars long with a whole load of additional notes added/repeated. This worked perfectly in old Scaler.

Let me try and add screenshotts… hopefully they will make it clearer…

In Scaler:

After midi-dragging the first progression into Bitwig:

I’ll spend a bit more time on this but am currently fearing that I’ll have to drop back to old scaler; I use midi-drag all the time and if it isn’t working this is a no-go for me.

I’m not that familiar with dragging progressions from the sketch area, but when I drag a bass track from the arrange page it works perfectly.

Maybe try that?

Thank-you zzrwood.
At this point I am thinking I might stay on old scaler; there was a point yesterday where I realised that no sound had come from my speakers for 2 days as I was spending all my time struggling with new scaler so much. I reverted to old scaler and music was playing within minutes.
I am grateful for the work on new scaler, and don’t begrudge the upgrade at all as I use scaler just about every single day, I just perhaps think that perhaps I am just an old scaler type-of-user :o)

This happens to me too (Bitwig)…

I tried dragging an 8 chord progression into Bitwig and it works fine, however if I select an Articulation, Expression or Mood (tried many different ones) and then drag out the MIDI from the C Main Track Arrow Export button it not only adds unusual notes that weren’t in the actual playback (as per the screenshot) but it also ADDS another new Chord to the end of the 8 chord progression.
