I was trying to identify a particular chord using the Scaler 3 on-screen keyboard, but it wouldn’t let me do that directly. When I played the same chord on my MIDI keyboard, Scaler recognized it correctly.
After some experimenting, I discovered a workaround to search for chords using the Scaler 3 keyboard itself. First, I created an empty “rest” chord. Then, by selecting that rest chord, Scaler allowed me to enter notes manually on the keyboard. This way, it successfully identified the chord.
I’m not entirely sure if this is the intended method, but it works as an effective solution.
That don’t seem to work? Can you clarify? When I insert a “empty rest” then select it, then play a chord on the keyboard - nothin! I tried to R-Click on the empty rest, select detect and then play the chord and - nothin!
OK, that is good to know, but…. If I can enter the chords on the GUI Keyboard why can’t I enter them with my midi keyboard which highlights the exact same notes on the GUI keyboard. (Sorry, for always asking for more.)
Well the MIDI keyboard is for performing notes. To have it stop doing that on this page would convolute. That’s my opinion anyways. Works the same way in Scaler 2.
Sorry, I should have been clear about the keyboard. I mean ‘not your MIDI Controller keyboard’ but input the notes on the GUI Scaler keyboard. Once the notes are entered and the desired chord is formed. Now, you can bind your MIDI controller keyboard and play that chord. I hope that helps.
