Is there a way to remove space from a chord sequence?

Is there a way to remove blank spaces in a chord sequence? I deleted a couple chords, which leaves a hole, and it takes a lot of fiddling to slide all the chords over from the right.

Select (lasso) all chords or a group of chords having empty spaces, right-click on one of the chords in the group and select “Remove empty spaces”

I think to remember that if you leave the gap, nothing bad happens
