The 3.0.5 version which PluginBoutique has publicly announced for download, is currently only actually available on dozens of illegal sites (after wasting time on ScalerMusic site and PB site, I ultimately downloaded the clean installer – no alterations, and not a beta from any indication, from a “3rd party” site. Used my legitimate registration and off to the races)
I just ran checksum comparison, and it is the Final version, same that is now added 2 hours ago on the site download. Not sure if that was shared with the beta team or not, there was not a single byte difference between files, fwiw.
I wouldn’t be relying upon byte difference, it’s very common for us to release a different version to a beta version which looks identical. Then we end up fielding a whole host of support questions for a version that is not current. it’s happened many times in the past. You would have needed to demonstrate no more than 12 hours of patience for the official version to be available.
I will concede to the point you make about my patience. I apologize. That said, you’re unequivocally wrong about the other part. If you run an MD5 checksum on two files (as I stated I did) and they return the same hash, there is not a developer or scientist in the world who will deny that they are 100% exactly the same, that’s just how math works.
Also, is there a change log. I don’t see it for 3.0.5
Thanks
You can see information on the latest version including changelogs here. These are considered minor updates that mainly address stability issues we have discovered since release, but there are some bonuses there too
Thanks Davide now I know where to look.
Go to scaler site and in your account you can download it
I could not find the 3.0.5 version in Plugin Boutique until I clicked the “My Updates” link (just above the start of the list of my products).
I’m late to this… and not to be pedantic… but the issue is about collisions (where the same hash value is returned for different inputs). Hash algorithms aim to have no collisions but there are no guarantees… and in particular, MD5 is known to have collision issues ( see MD5 - Wikipedia ).
