Hidden save icon; Logic record button autoplays scaler3 when "daw sync" is switched to on; disappearing "orange keys"

Hey guys,

How do you save a state in scaler 3?

Nb: I fond the tiny save disk icon Please devs for the benefit of new users do not make this save as icon automatically hide - I dont see the reason for this. its not saving space and hiding the save icon HARDLY makes the user interface less cluttered. Please just leave it viewable at all times. less brain aneurisms will occur. and to be honest naming said button “save project” is a more fitting term. its not a mere preset if you spend an hour working on something in scaler 3 then plan to base an entire song around the outcome. its like its nicer to say outcome rather than output; saying project rather than preset.

And dont be scared to make the save icon a little larger. I pity the people with poor eye sight and im not being a smart arse. my eye sight is perfectly fine and it’s even tiny for me. the save icon is so important when you think about it. arguably it is the most important icon of the whole plugin. rarely can any user complete a whole project in one sitting

Also please help me understand what I have to do to stop scaler 3 from playing automatically when I hit record in logic. Praise Jesus - I discovered that when you UN-sync scaler 3 from logic weirdly it works better with logic and does not auto play when the user hits record (in logic). awesome to figure this out but maybe it shouldn’t auto play whether daw sync is on or not? who would ever want it to auto play? and why? sincere question.

Also there are continuity problems, aside from the problem of saving and opening files/“presets”

You close logic.
Open up same logic project.
Scaler 3 loads.
The user “loads” the latest saved preset etc.
Logic isnt playing what this same setup was playing before the user last closed logic.

It’s so annoying because you spend an hour or two working on something
Get excited
Then close logic.
Then start logic again later and, everything is jumbled re scaler 3.

You have to spend time trying to get scaler 3 back into the same state even after you’ve loaded the previously saved file/preset from last time and ostensibly got the same scaler state now loaded.

Takes the fun out of it.
Headache.
It’s annoying because scaler 3 is so useful but clearly it doesnt work properly.

I just noticed the “organge keys” have disappeared? I loaded the same file/preset as my last session - where the orange keys were displayed - indeed my whole project/logic track was based around said “orange keys” in scaler 3. This must be related to why Logic is now playing different sounding sounds to the last logic session when I was using scaler 3 (with the orange keys).

Why have the orange keys in my scaler 3 present/file now vanished?
Someone please help! Ahhhh

OMG - I figured it out - PLEASE PLEASE developers fix this
You have to CLICK/UNCLICK and then click again the orange section c main track chain icon to get the orange keys up again - so the logic project/scaler 3 session plays properly agian

Please please devs. If a user saves a scaler 3 project with the section c main track orange chain icon switched to on. Then dont force users to switch it off and on when they reload the scaler 3 session next time. It’s just through sheer random guessing I am able to figure out how this thing works!!! lol

Just because 99% of users who experience confusion or frustration working with s3 dont post about it in this forum doesnt automatically mean everyone using scaler 3 finds it smooth sailing. im sure many budding users give up despite the tremendous power of scaler 3. indeed producers need tools like this nowadays to stand any chance of keeping up with / let alone out performing AI generated music

Thank you

I’ve also experienced those issues within Logic; I gave up and did my work in the Standalone.

I am brand new to Scaler 3 and it took me finally asking ChatGPT after 10 minutes of hunting how to save my file because it’s hidden and not at all intuitive. I please second this request - and even better would be an autosave feature!

Here hear! It’s not just a Logic problem. I use Sonar. I honestly believe it wasn’t meant for users to stop and return to projects at a later time.

There are states, templates, presets, chord sets, and probably other sets. That’s all fine, but I want to my work in progrss exactly as it was the last time I saw it. Who wouldn’t?

Am I missing something here? You save your DAW session and reopen it and Scaler 3 is where it last left off. You can also save as a preset and open on another DAW/platform/Standalone.
Is it the disk icon only showing on hover? Every plugin I have if I want to save I head toward ‘Preset’ and then save. What would make it more obvious?
