Help with locking the scale

Hi,

I think Scaler looks great—I just downloaded it and have been playing around. I do have a problem though: I’m trying to lock the F-sharp scale with the padlock in section A, but every time I leave the plugin to switch to another window, it defaults back to C. It’s really annoying because I can’t evolve chords or get into a proper workflow. I’ve even had to install something else just to keep going. Am I doing something wrong? I’m using Reaper.

Hi @IDEE welcome to the forum. What you are describing doesn’t sound right. Which operating system are you using, and which version of Scaler are you using? Be sure you have updated to version 3.2.

To clarify, the pad lock in the top right will retain your scale selection when browsing chord sets. With this disabled, Scaler will detect the best matching scale for the selected chord set and automatically select that whenever a new chord set is selected. With the pad lock enabled, selected chord sets will be automatically transposed to best fit your currently selected scale, so your selected scale should not change.

If you are running Scaler 3 in Reaper, and have the F# major scale selected in Section B, then close the Scaler 3 plugin window, the next time you open it, Scaler 3 should be exactly as it was when you closed the window. Is this not what you are experiencing?
