When I´m in keys lock mode with “chord notes” on , these notes locked to the chords are not in a continous order. The chord notes start at octave one, going to the end of octave 2. But from there it jumps to the beginning of octave 2 again instead of continuing with octave 3…
It would be cool for jamming and quantizing when they are placed from lowest to highest note.
in a wide range of several octaves.
Otherwise it’s not possible to chord- quantize for example notes from your midi track. And strumming/ jamming ist very confusing.
Hi @Karl. The Keys Lock behaviour you are describing is not a bug, but the intended operation. The idea is for it to be easy to find the root note of your scale at various octaves. So for this reason the scale starts again at each C key, an octave higher than the previous C key.
But like you mention this can lead to some unexpected behaviour in other use cases, so we will definitely take the suggestion on board for future Scaler release. Thanks!
Ah OK, thanks!
Then I would suggest an additional mode to the “Fit to Chord”.
Maybe “Quantize to Chord” which simply fits every (not only a fiew like in “Fit to Chord”) incoming Note to the nearest chord note.
That would be a very mighty feature, because then, you can quantize every midi track in your DAW to your progression!
I was looking for that for a long time and many people in different forums want such a feature. At the moment only Synfire provides this kind of possibilitys (costs 800 bugs!)
