With the enhanced arrange page the analyze midi or audio function has one lack of functionality.
It is that all detected chords have the same length.
I would expect, that the length of the dedicated chord enlarges size until the next chord is detected. Snapping to the grid width set in the arrange page. Maybe adding 1/32
It is the same when importing a lead sheet (midi) created by Melodyne. All chord have the same length and I have to adapt them manually comparing the length in Melodyne and Scaler.
This would really help to create Chords from e.g. KI generated vocals. And these chords match to the audio file playing in the synced DAW.
Maybe this function as an option for all those only need the chords.
It seems that is not the way the program was designed? I could be wrong (I’m a newbie) but it only inserts on every bar & all have the same length (as you mention). What I do is use my DAW, add a Scaler track on an instrument track (I use Studio One in Windows) & insert the chords from the chord track onto that instrument track.(I’m not sure what other DAWS do but it’s probably something similar). Then when play it back, it plays in Scaler (it shows the chords playing at the top) allowing you to use the perform dialog and from there, you can choose what motions you want to use. I know it’s not the same thing but at least you can use the functionality in this fashion. The problem with that, it’s not really using the program in the true sense of what it was designed for & you can’t adjust anything in the midi editor as it doesn’t insert anything on the main track. But at least I get to use the motions and other settings etc.
