Assign selection of the 7 progressions in Sketch

I am trying to figure out how to automate selection of the 7 available progressions. The Scaler Intro video only describe the feature but don’t show how to do it. And it’s not working as in Scaler 2 pad page which was a right click and MIDI assignment.

I use this to create one finger chords for songs and build full sets with intro/verse/etc.

I also don’t know how to move the Scaler 2 sessions to Scaler 3 so I don’t have to rebuild these. The Export/Import process doesn’t work.

Oh can you see in your DAW’s automation the BIND parameters being exposed? Also for third sets see this post

Thanks very much for directing me to that post. I’m not sure if my situation is an issue with Chord Sets since I was using the Pad feature in Scaler 2 and used the Session to move from one instance to another. But it certainly points to unfinished work. I’m not in any rush myself and will monitor the situation.

As for the automation, I use Cantabile for live DAW, and it exposes the parameters. I don’t see anything that looks like the Sketch progress parameters. I am still hoping they set it up as simple as Scaler 2.

I’m the same. (Noting that Scaler 3 is brilliant)
I’m using standalone mode and just looking to trigger each of the sketch progressions via a different midi trigger for live performance (changing from verse to chorus etc) as we did in Patterns on Scaler 2. This is my primary use case.

I usually use Gig Performer as host for Scaler when playing live. In the ‘learn parameter’ area of Gig Performer I can identify ‘Bind Zone’ as a parameter for Scaler 3 but only one zone / progression and the trigger isn’t mapping anyway.

Scaler 2 we just right clicked ‘learn’ on the Pattern, hit the respective pad (in my case Novation Launchpad set up with a custom line of pads colour coded as verse, chorus, bridge etc) and it was mapped.

No gripe - I’m sure there will be a ready fix or something I’m missing. I see the note on keyswitches in teh manual but no further info on this.

Hey @irmikeb Thanks for good vibes,
You are missing key switches correct. No one else has missed them but I am. For now you can automate the switching between lanes by exposing those parameters. You can even do that using any third party controller via Midi Mapping in Ableton or Smart Controls in Logic Pro for example. Does that help?

Thanks @davide it’s generous that you even got to this with the look of the forum going thick and strong.

It’s helpful that you realise it’s an issue and I see elsewhere that you have live performance in mind for those of us that love what Scaler delivers in this context. I hope that we are using ‘automation’ the same way. I’m not looking to automate changes across the timeline of a song, rather to midi trigger (from a pad controller) the changes to different sketch lanes flexibly when and as needed. This is where the keyswitches come in I guess.

I’ll give it a look in Logic, but as mentioned, have been using Gig Performer as the platform for playing Scaler 2 live to date.
