Hi everyone. Can anyone please explain why the Explore Page chord colours change when dynamic scale is switched off?
Example: dynamic scale switched on and main chord is G#/Ab. Strongly related chords are blue, which is helpful. However, if I switch off dynamic scale, the chords that were blue become grey and different chords become blue instead? What’s going on there? Is it a bug?
Hi @Tedness Well that is because the scale is not changing so the far away chords remain far away. The colours of the chords (as per the behaviour elsewhere in S3) always relates to the relevance of the scale. That’s why it works nicely in Explore Page with Dynamic Scale on; every time you choose a chord the scale of the currently selected chord is taken into account and the colours of the other chords change accordingly. Hope that helps.

Hi Davide. Thanks for your reply, but for some reason I am not grasping this.
For example, with Dynamic Scale on, the D min7/C and B dim #5 chords, are grey while the related chords are blue. I get that and it’s very helpful, but when I turn it off, the related chords become darker shades and those two chords become blue, even though the same root chord of G # maj/C is selected. That doesn’t make to me at all
That’s because you must have a scale selected so when you turn off Dynamic Scale the colours lock to your currently selected scale (which according to your image I am assuming you have C Major selected).
Notice In this image I don’t have a scale selected and when I turn off Dynamic Scale the colours don’t change?
Ah! Thanks Davide. The penny is finally starting to drop
