Why can’t I change octave of arp or other parameters

I’m very new to the scaler 3 and I can’t figure out how to change the octave on the arpeggio

I can change timing, note but not Oct or inversion, or transpose , range, density, length,

But them it lets me change rotate resolution but not rotate increment and finally it lets me change voicing

Maybe you can tell me if what I’m doing wrong. Thank you so much.

HI @sleepingangelmusic
Can you see all of the parameters on the left here? I have no issue changing any of these parameters. If you not able to would you mind giving us more information on your setup / device / software etc. Also always a reinstall and reboot especially after an update may help.

Hi

It’s a brand new install as I just purchased it a couple of days ago
I have a 2021 Mac book pro 16 gigs of rram and have the latest os installed and I was using it inside of Logic 12

And so should I delete it and try again and how does that affect the license where it says “you have used one of the five “. Just wondering because I’m sure I’ll be getting a new Mac book in the future etc.

Love this concept and the program just hope to be able to use and change all the parameters

Thanks

Maria

No need to delete it. Can you change the parameters as per my screenshot? Have you rebooted you Mac after installing it? Are you clicking and holding the value within the parameter and dragging it up or down?

Helps lots if you watch the tutorial videos:

Ahhh light bulb moment

I don’t know why I was clicking it thinking that’s what you had to do and I did watch your videos but I guess I forgot by the time I was using the app by itself so you have to basically I have to use two hands because I’m on a Mac with a touchscreen so now I get it

one other quick question

how come we can’t just grab the timeline like if I’m working on something I don’t wanna start from the beginning. I want to take that line and move it like I wanna be able to go to wherever I want like I do in logic. I don’t know if I’m making myself understood but you can’t just pick up the timeline line. Thank you. I love this app though.

You can just hit the top of the barline (just above the bar numbers for example) and the timeline will jump to that spot. Needs a bit of an expanded area to click on to make it easier. Will improve that.

You know I figured that out by accident right after I messaged. And yes that would be good to be able to reduce the size to be able to easily grab the whole thing etc

But I am having a blast with it. So glad I bought the iPad and the Mac version.

I am in the middle of two surgeries as i unfortunately was diagnosed with breast cancer in December and underwent a mastectomy in January and I can’t play my guitar or many of my other instruments yet, so this is a really nice way to make music while I recover. My reconstruction surgery is April 10th so it will be really nice to use as I heal.

Thank you for all the help and creating this great program.
Maria

Sorry to hear Maria and wishing you a speedy recovery. Nice that Scaler is playing a tiny part in helping you heal. It has a learning curve so please try not to let it frustrate you and let us know if we can help further. :folded_hands:

Thanks so much ! I appreciate the good wishes. I have been very blessed to get a good prognosis so I hope to be making music and using your app for years to come :crossed_fingers::folded_hands: (God willing )

And thanks I will definitely let you know about any questions.
