When I select the 3rd party instrument (specifically “Fuego: "Latin Music Instrument”) the chords’ volume gets jarring (loud with high distortion). I wonder if this is an issue specifically with FeuGo. But I wonder if we could set the Gain control (or threshold) for the 3rd party instruments/plugins?
Hi @ramki123,
This is likely coming from the 3rd party instrument itself (or its output level), rather than Scaler 3. Some plugins are simply set quite hot by default, which can result in unexpected loudness or distortion when triggered.
You can balance this by adjusting the channel level in Scaler 3’s mixer, or by lowering the output/gain inside the instrument plugin itself.
You might also want to keep levels a bit conservative when first loading instruments, just to avoid any jarring spikes, and then balance things out from there. Cheers.
Thanks @Steven for your time to address this. I understand what you are saying (i.e. to use the volume/gain from the mixer segment in the “Arrange page” to control). But I am still at the “Browser Page - Main Track segment” exploring the initial chords using the 3rd party instruments. Would the mixer control help here? or we have any equivalent way here as well?
Ah fair enough, @ramki123 - thanks for clarifying. There isn’t currently a dedicated volume control on the Browse page. I can see the benefit of having one for exploring chords and sounds there, and it’s something we can keep in mind if there’s enough demand. In the meantime, hopefully you can find a workflow that lets you explore while keeping levels under control. Cheers.
