User Track + Chord Follow – Does MIDI export contain fully reharmonized notes?

Hello,

I need to clarify something before purchasing Scaler 3, since there is no trial version available.

My intended workflow is the following:

  1. Activate Chord/Scale Follow.

  2. Create a User Track in the Arrange section.

  3. Enter a phrase over C major (for example: C D E F G A B).

  4. Then create a chord progression in Section C, for example:
    C | Cm | C7 | Cm9

  5. Copy the same User Track phrase across those chords.

During playback I expect the phrase to adapt harmonically
(e.g., E → Eb over Cm, A → Ab, etc.).

My crucial question is:

:backhand_index_pointing_right: When I drag the entire arrangement as MIDI into my DAW,
does the exported MIDI actually contain the reharmonized notes
(Eb in the Cm section, etc.),
or does it export the originally entered C major phrase?

In short:
Is the reharmonization “baked into” the exported MIDI?

This is essential for my purchase decision.

Thank you!

Hi @Criz welcome to the forum. Note that there is a free trial of Scaler 3 available, fully functional for 14 days. If you create an account at scalermusic.com you will find a trials link in your account dashboard.

User tracks are detached from the main chord track and will not automatically adapt to chord changes. They are static MIDI tracks. But I may be misunderstanding your question so you may be best to download the trial and check for yourself.

Thank you for that hint!
