Sharing & Deleting user presets : iPad versus desktop/laptop

Please pardon if I have missed something. I’m using Scaler3 iPad(standalone) and Scaler3 Windows (DAW & standalone). I haven’t found any method to access the same user preset on both iPad and desktop/laptop.

  • On iPad, I can click the disk icon and save a user preset by providing a name. It is stored in some unknown (to me) location in the iPad.
  • On iPad, I can click the Preset chooser and load a saved preset from that unknown location.
  • On iPad, I can export a user preset to any location I choose. Such a preset can be made accessible to another device (i.e. desktop/laptop).
  • iPad has no way to load a preset which it exported (?).
  • iPad has no way to load a preset created by another device (?).
  • [Desktop/laptop can store anywhere, but only load from a fixed location, by specifying a name.]

The default desktop/laptop storage location is known and accessible.

  • If the iPad storage was known and accessible, I could externally sync between devices.
  • If the iPad had in “import preset” function, the issue would also be solved.

Thanks.

Hey @techworker1 So all genuine thoughts and questions and let me clarify.

At the moment you can export your preset to your PC and then import that file to the same location Scaler 3 Desktop stores its presets:

After saving or loading a user preset on Scaler 3 for iPad, you can export the preset by clicking the export button in the top right of Scaler 3’s interface, and selecting ‘Export User Preset’. Then you can manually import the preset file into Scaler 3’s preset folder on Windows or macOS.

  • macOS: Macintosh HD/[User Name]/Library/Scaler Music/Scaler 3/Presets
  • Windows: C:\ProgramData\Scaler Music\Scaler 3

Support for importing user presets to Scaler 3 for iPad is coming soon via a software update.

We need some significant time to be able to create an easy interoperability between Scaler 3 iPad and Desktop along with cloud sharing. We had planned this for release but the desktop version needed work so it’s a part of our planned 3.3 update on both desktop and iPad.

Hope that clears up some confusion!

I’m not seeing a way to delete unwanted files, move files to a folder, or any other way to keep files organized other than marking a file as Favorite. Could this be given consideration in the next release?

Hi @dwcrook You can export presets, you can move user chord sets and delete user chord sets.
Exposing the Preset folder and improving interoperability between desktop and iPad is our priority and will come with 3.3
