An experiment with AI. I took a track I previously recorded and let Suno cover it. The chord progressions are Scaler, the melodies are Scaler keys lock, originally recorded using virtual instruments in Studio One. Then I gave it to Suno to create this version. My take on this as a part of my workflow in the future is that it’s my original music, using AI as hired session players after creating what would have been the final version as a demo.
Nice work Nick. It’s a good world we live in where creativity is accessible to all!
Nice work, Nick. It would be fun to hear the demo too.
Really nice. Complete and polished.
Yes I do more end more together with AI as I am just a bedroom producer.
Both tracks are based on 2 to 4 tracks 12 bar sketched in scalers arrangement page and then enhanced in ACE Studio for getting some ideas. With ACEbridge I can directly use midi in scaler for singers and instruments as well.
2 examples: Not finished. Just as a starting point for enhancment
The original track is on my bandcamp page too. It’s called On the Borderline.
Hi Nick,
good work!!! but…..
…..…that the fine print in Suno’s terms of use states, that all tracks created through Suno are the property of Suno.
I don’t think that’s good at all, but unfortunately that’s how it is.
….which means that in the worst-case scenario, you could produce a million-dollar song, upload it to Suno just once to tweak it, and suddenly Suno becomes the owner of your million-dollar track.
Greetings, Tom
I love it! It sounds very modern. Keep your eyes open for free AI offline music generation applications. There are many showing up now that can do what Suno is doing offline natively on your computer. By using free offline modeling, you won’t have to be stuck in a contract that doesn’t help you as the creator.
I’ve seen a number of comments about this on various social media platforms, but the contract clearly states this:
“Subject to your compliance with these Terms of Service , if you are a user who has subscribed to the Pro or Premier paid tier of the Service, Suno hereby assigns to you all of its right, title and interest in and to any Output owned by Suno and generated from Submissions made by you through the Service during the term of your paid-tier subscription.”
There are some complications if you make your content available for remastering and covers by other users, but that doesn’t confer rights to Suno, it makes their output jointly owned by them and you.
Does this mean that you only retain the rights as long as you have a paid subscription—if you cancel or do not renew the subscription, do you also lose your rights …..![]()
No. Rights are assigned to you for all content generated by you during your subscription. There is no mention anywhere of this being revoked when the subscription ends.
The other question is whether YOU have the right to protect it it for yourself. I discussed with Gemini (AI) how the use of AI music tools are viewed by the US (and greater) copyright laws. It’s kind nuanced and worth checking into. For example, there’s a point where it is no longer considered your own creation, especially as it pertains to the performance of a piece (demos, syncs and masters). So, while others may be prevented from stealing it, you be prevented from owning it.
