Studio One freezes up doing most anything within the Scaler 3 (VST3). I really like Scaler 3 and look forward to an update that will solve this problem. Thanks

Hi @MrEd
Can you please:

Delete Scaler 3 Settings File and restart Scaler 3:

  • Mac → /Users/[NAME]/Library/Application Support/Scaler 3.settings
  • PC → C:\Users[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Scaler 3.settings

Also sending you 3.0.1

I posted the same in another thread, can I get 7.0.1 also?

I think there might be other variables in the mix here. I’m using Studio One 7.1 and it’s only crashed once with Scaler 3. That was opening a song that had Scaler 3 on a track. I opened the same song again, and it was ok. Perhaps Scaler 3 isn’t playing nicely with another VST on your system which I don’t have. I’m using Windows 11.

After updating to 3.01 Scaler 3 is much more stable within Studio One 7. I did notice if I have 2 files (songs) open in the daw with the scaler plugin on both I get “An unexpected error occurred” while using the midi editor. It doesn’t crash but the error happens each time when clicking the first cell in the main track. Thanks for the update.

keeps crashing in Fl Studio 24, upgraded ver. from Scaler2

Able to download and install and open in Reaper.
Opens in Cubase 13 Pro and Mixcraft 10 as a regular instrument.
Cubase 14 Pro: Scaler 2 and 3 shows in vst plug-in manger. But when trying to use Scaler 3 as a instrument, only showing Scaler 2. As I was scrolling in the FX folder..I find Scaler 3 Audio. Opened that up as a FX and it seems to work.
I have reinstalled Scaler 3. I have rebooted my computer-Windows 11 Pro. Nothing seems to work. I have checked the install paths, that seems to be correct (Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Scaler 3.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win). If this is not correct any assistance will be greatly apprciated.
UPDATE: Solved. What I failed to realize when I went to Instruments to try and load Scaler 3, right next to the search function is another drop down (Cubase 14 Pro). One is Default and the other is one I created in January 2025. Scaler did not show in the created on, however it is showing in the default menu. So all is well…now to learn this instrument.

When I install Scaler 3, I choose only VST3 & Standalone versions. Standalone version runs ok, but after scan and sucessfully found VST3 plugin in Studio One, it can’t be load. Each time I load it to sequencer, the DAW first freezes, then crashes, then the DAW reboots.

I have not test VST2 version yet, maybe that would work (some plugin just works better in VST2 version), but I rather waiting for solution for VST3 issue.

Post your CPU, RAM,OS, and search for error message in Event Viewer. Developers will certainly find the fix.

Thank you Miki, I found out it’s not plugin’s problem, after installation there was an option to reboot my pc, but I chose to ignore. Then I totally forgot this step, that might causing some files not settle properly. After reboot, Scaler 3 loads up smoothly!

Same problem here. Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Ryzen 5 5600X, 32 GB

Did you reboot your pc after installation? That might be an important step. I did it then it shows up.

when i use 3rd party plugins.i get pops and clicks during playback.did some buffer size changes from 512 to 256 with no success.this is a serious issue with scaler3.i’m running the latest mac update.

Hi, I just updated to Scaler 3 but I’m having serious problems.
Scaler 3 crashes both FL Studio 2024, Ableton Live 12 (Standard) and Reaper.
I managed to open it and then activate the license in Standalone mode and miraculously it also works on Luna the Daw by UAD.

I will also report to technical support!

My Laptop:
Processor Intel(R) Core™ i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
Device ID FA261C85-337D-41E7-89FF-DF30D792D825
Product ID 00325-81970-97097-AAOEM
System Type 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home

UPDATE: Solved after I reboot the PC

Scaler 3 (VST3) instantly crashes both Reaper and Cubase when I try to load it. Bitwig shows an error but doesn’t crash—only because it runs all plugins in a sandbox.
Tested on Windows 11. Any ideas or fixes?
