Revo Uninstaller is good for clean delete.

Same here. It affects every effect plug-in and every manufacturer! However, there is one difference for me: If one of the effect plug-ins is added, Scaler loses the output channel of the instrument and Studio One issues an error message that a VST is no longer working properly. Sometimes switching to another instrument helps to keep the track (the instance), but not always.

Hi all,
I also found that attempting to load Halion 7 as an instrument crashes standalone and locks up Samplitude Pro X8 Suite when Scaler 3 is used as a plugin. To escape Samlitude, I’ve found it necessary to kill the process.
I was asked by Tech Support to supply a crash report here in this forum, so here it is as XML which is how the report was exported from the Event Viewer:

First couple of days after installation, everything was fine. Now, I can’t open standalone verison at all and Scaler 3 as VST in Studio One 7 (Windows 10) crashes after trying to export midi file to DAW.
The update 3.0.1 was also installed, nothing changed.
Can i deinstall Scaler and try again? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @KaPa Please download and install 3.0.1 and follow these steps:
Please delete Scaler 3 Settings File and restart Scaler 3:
* Mac → /Users/[NAME]/Library/Application Support/Scaler 3.settings
* PC → C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Scaler 3.settings
Still having crash issues in Reaper after following all the file deletion and reinstall of Scaler 3.0.1. When using the arrange view and adjusting chords, for example: make the chord only 1/16 long instead of a full measure, after a couple of moves boom!

Hi,
Done all of the above. The standalone crashes every so often. The VST in Ableton won’t last 10 minutes.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently using Pro Tools version 2024.10.1, so it’s not particularly outdated.
Recently, I installed Scaler 3, but I’m experiencing crashes whenever I try to launch it.
On the first attempt, Pro Tools crashes as soon as Scaler 3 is loaded.
When I relaunch Pro Tools, it prompts me with a message asking,
“Do you want to move this plugin to the unused folder?”
If I ignore that and proceed, Pro Tools runs—though inconsistently.
Sometimes Scaler 3 works just fine, but other times it crashes immediately upon opening.
Has a stable version of Scaler 3 been released yet?
Any insights or similar experiences would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Scaler standalone with HALION 7 crashing
Scaler standalone with HALION Sonic works ok
Scaler in Cubase: HALION 7 crashing
Scaler in Cubase: HALION Sonic works ok
However
- I cannot route midi to channel other than 1. That is, if I have multiple sounds in Halion, then I will only play the first one (midi channel 1).
- Maybe I am overlooking this but when I close Halion in Scaler there seems to be no way to open it again to change the selected sound.
Hi @kobesage There are a few ProTools users reporting similar issues. Can you please upload a crash report and list your specs to help us a but more?
@Tristan Lets check our version of ProTools to compare please.
Scaler 3 crashes fairly easily if I edit something in S3 while it’s playing. I have not had a crash yet when not playing.
This is in the latest Bitwig Studio and using S3 VST3 on a Mac/Sequoia
Hi @Deva, welcome to the forum. Just checking, have you performed a clean install and updated to version3.0.1? Steps are at the top of this thread.
If you’ve already done that and the crash persists, please share a crash report—it really helps us address the issue. Cheers!
Reinstalled yesterday my Reason 12.

I see people are reporting crashes for specific scenarios. I’m experiencing so many crashes that I’ve lost track of what I’m doing each time. Simple things like deleting a MIDI region… or moving a chord… or deleting a track… or many other instances. Does the team receive the crash reports from Apple?
I’m excited about what Scaler 3 makes possible, but the instability is annoying.
For what it’s worth - and this is very very early testing - I’m finding the VST3 is more stable than the AU, even in a Mac environment. I’m not using Logic, though - my DAW is Studio One.
I get crash after about 10mins using it stand alone and in Bitwig. Completely unusable for me. Uninstalled.
It would be helpful to have an option to click in an empty space and “remove” the space and everything to the right shifts (like ripple edit)
Hi Steven, Thanks for the welcome. I did not do a clean install for 3.0.1. I’ll try that.
Where do I find a crash report?
