Scaler 3 - Timeline Zoom + Grid Request

The title pretty much explains it

Welcome to the forum @nifster Have you used the zoom / scroll bars? Will also show you a grid too!

Brilliant! Thanks, I had no idea the ends were also zoom.

Is there any pinch-to-zoom support on the horizon?

Nice. Strangely it was there but disappeared just before launch. Will discuss with the team.

Not sure if this is by design, but when you drag a series of chords on the Chord Track, the scroll bar automatically moves all the way to the end, so you can then drop them in at the end. This is great! However, does not have same behaviour on the Arrange page. If you can’t see empty zone in arrange mode, you can’t drag and drop.

Net result of this is that for my resolution, I have 16 bars visible, and if I want to drag 1-4 to copy again at say 22 onwards, can’t do it. Bar does not scroll, so I only have a fixed set of bars I can work with in arrange mode when using drag features. For now, I am going back to Chord Page and then dragging and dropping from there, to update the arrange view. Which is a little clunker for those longer arrangements. Enjoying it all despite the early clunkiness, workflow is better (but needs more tweaks methinks)

Example screenshot from my view. If I wanted to drop copy some chords from 1-4 and drop them at the end here, I can’t. There is also another headache I can only add one bar at a time at the end when stretching the arrangement. Suspect this is all linked to the grid view. Apologies, if I should have started this in a new post rather than reply to this one…

I figured that out but what I haven’t figured out yet is how do I create a custom triplet feel. The grid snaps 4/4 even if I tried to edit a premade motion arp triplet it won’t allow me to snap it freely anywhere on the grid.

Do these tips help?

  • Change your division settings (top right)
  • Change you DAW’s time signature to 3/4 or do so in Standalone.
  • Use the Triplet quantisation feature in each channel (MIDI Editor).

it really doesn’t help. Also I don’t see the quantisation in the midi editor in both the user or the other motions. Also when I tested it out using a arp (triplet) I still wasn’t able to do the triplets I tested it out by trying to place a midi note under what was already placed and it wouldn’t place it or shift it.
