There is a weird interaction with chord progressions and scale choice. Every time I re-open scaler I have to re-select my scale. It is SUPER ANNOYING.

If you start with a new clean session and try again you will find this is not occurring.
In your session you are demonstrating here hit the record button, you will find that you previously detected something and that is forcing your scale to adapt to the detected chords.
yep this is true. But it is also janky and bad! Why can’t I clear the detected chords lol
That’s what the Bin icon does. Or you can even right click and remove chords. Not that bad and janky really.

I’m using FL Studio on M1 system, on Scaler 3 I noticed
that if I choose for example a genre and than change the key, if I closed the plugin and I opened back it goes back to the first key note of the list in that section complete messing up with my project.
On Scaler 2 check this and it doesn’t have this issues, I was trying to see if someone have this same issues but couldn’t fine anything.
Hi @alanz Welcome to the forum. I have moved your post here as this is the issue you are prolly facing. Seems to get a few users as the Detection is hidden. We may need to improve this.
Would it be better if I record a video and showcase the issue that I have.

Hit the Record button and you will see you have some previously detected chords. Hit the BIN icon to get rid of them. if you open up a new session you will see this behaviour is not occurring.
