Scaler 3.2.0 – Key Lock lag when changing chords (no issue in Scaler 2)

Hello everyone,

I’m writing because I’m experiencing a persistent issue with Scaler 3, currently version 3.2.0, that never happened to me in Scaler 2, and so far I haven’t been able to find a solution.

Issue description:
In the attached video I’m working in F# / Ab and using the Key Lock option.
The problem is that when I move from one note/chord to another, there is a noticeable lag — it takes one or even several seconds for the chord to actually change.

The response is not immediate: I play a note, and the chord switches after a short delay.

This did not happen in Scaler 2. In that version, the response was instant: play and the chord changes immediately.

Since the release of Scaler 3, I’ve been reading the forum and testing different configurations, but I haven’t been able to resolve this issue.

System & setup:

  • Scaler 3.2.0

  • Ableton Live 12.2.1

  • macOS on Mac M2

  • The issue happens only with Scaler; all other plugins work perfectly.

  • In the video I show exactly how Scaler is configured.

  • I’ve tried multiple settings across all tabs (Key Lock, Engine, MIDI, etc.), with no success.

At this point, I’ve tried everything I can think of and I’m out of ideas.
I really need to solve this urgently, as Scaler is a key tool in my workflow.

Any help, confirmation of a known bug, or guidance on a specific setting I might be missing would be greatly appreciated.

Yes there is currently an 80ms delay. We’ve got this on our list to rectify and I expect it to be done in the next update.
