I just bought Scaler 2. I followed the instructions for download. Restarted my Mac. When I pull up Garageband, I can see the plugin in a track, but when I choose it, the window doesn’t show anything other than “Scaler Audio 2”. It never gave me an option to put in the license. I’m confused.
Hi @Hetrick welcome to the forum. Yes something doesn’t seem right there.
It looks like you’re attempting to load the audio effect version of Scaler 2 (ScalerAudio 2) on an instrument track, after the electric piano instrument. I did try this myself and everything works properly on my machine.
You may like to try removing the ScalerAudio 2 audio effect, and instead replacing the E-Piano instrument with the Scaler 2 instrument plugin? Located under AU Instruments.
See if that loads properly and allows you to register with your license file.
If not, try reinstalling with the latest Scaler 2.9.1. And if you still have no luck, please let us know some information about your computer and operating system, and GarageBand version to help troubleshooting.
Hi @Tristan thanks for responding. I think it is my OS version. My Mac is a 2017 and the OS can only go up so far, which in turn can only go up so far on the version of Garageband. I tried it on my wife’s 2023 macbook pro and it worked fine.
I’ll just have to eat the cost of Scaler, because I can’t afford to get a new computer at the moment and my wife uses hers for work. I should’ve tried the trial version first to make sure it works. Sucks.
Maybe she’ll let me tinker with it on the weekends on her macbook. Ha.
