Scaler 2 -> 3 motion tracks

My comments echo some other posts about motion tracks in Scaler 3, but I have a few additional wrinkles. I’ve struggled to adjust to the workflow changes going from Scaler 2 to 3, but mostly I’m able to get things done now, with some non-trivial unresolved issues remaining.

In Scaler 2 I could have multiple motions (referred to as “performances” then) from different categories on the same track, and I could bind MIDI keyboard keys to that track and thus play any mix of motions and motion types I wanted on the MIDI keyboard, which was nice for composing.

In Scaler 3 the main track (which was the only track in Scaler 2) lacks any flexibility with motions, so I always wind up silencing it, which for me means no MIDI output. (I don’t use internal sounds or internal plugins and opt for MIDI out to VSTs in my DAW instead. It’s nice that Scaler can now host VSTs, but I prefer that they remain in my DAW as they did with Scaler 2.) So then I’m left with one-motion-type tracks that can’t be bound to, and so I have to click on the individual motion blocks to hear them, and if I want to mix motion types I have to create additional tracks, all of which is a significantly less satisfying way to work.

Perhaps I am missing some crucial features here or not understanding how everything works, and if so I’d appreciate whatever assistance people can give. I’ve tried to climb the learning curve, but Scaler 3 hasn’t felt like an intuitive evolution coming from Scaler 2. At least for my workflow, so far the new features aren’t making up for what’s been lost, but I’m hoping the situation can be improved.
