Scalar 2.1 and using external VST's

With Scalar 2.1 how do I control a VST on a different track through midi using Ableton 10?

Looked around and didn’t see any clear answer, if this question has already been asked, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I’ve done this before in the past but I just checked both Ableton 11 and Ableton 12 and the secondary / subsection of midi doesn’t show ‘Scaler’ in either one for me (OSX 14.41)

Hi @grimmwerks I’d guess you’re using the AU plugin of Scaler 2 here. For this to work you will need to use the VST plugin due to limitations of the AU plugin format.
