Rendering issues

Hey there, very cool product, just reporting a bug I’m getting in Pro Tools.

When I try to render an instrument track with DC Snares on it (either bouncing a full mix or committing a track), snare hits usually get rendered with as a buzzy sound as if the sample was being triggered 4-5 times for every hit (like an extremely fast machine-gun “drum roll”). This will occasionally happen as a glitch during playback, but will always happen when rendering. The current workaround I have is real-time tracking through a bus back into a new track, then offlining the instrument track with DC Snares on it.

If anyone has a fix for this it’d be good to hear, otherwise a suggestion for the next update! Thanks :slight_smile:

Hi @DJohnston welcome to the forum. We haven’t been able to replicate the issue you describe in Pro Tools with DC Snares 1.2. It sounds like you’re on top of things but it might be worth ruling out the usual suspects with these types of issues;

  • Make sure you’ve updated to the lates versions of Pro Tools and DC Snares - currently v1.2
  • Try increasing your hardware buffer size prior to bounce in case of CPU glitches
  • If programming single note hits in DC Snares, be sure all of your MIDI notes are in the single hit note range: C1 - B2, not the division note range: C3- B3

It is worth trying to bounce your mix using just the plain default DC Snares preset to see if that exhibits the same results.

If you’ve tried all of the above, perhaps you could share a bounced audio file here, or your Pro Tools project so can we try to see/hear what is going wrong?
