Recently my DC Snares plugin has been popping, crackling, and clicking when I try to use it. I never used to have this problem with it. It seems to have started when I upgraded to the latest version of Ableton Live. I tried installing the latest version (1.2), but the problem persists.
A propper Asio Audio Interface will resolve that.
I am using a Scarlett 6i6. It’s the same interface I’ve been using for a couple of years. I don’t have problems with any other plugin or device.
In fact, it starts with popping and clicking, and then resorts to what sounds like a gunshot anytime you trigger one of DC Snares sounds, and doesn’t change no matter what preset I load in.
Hi @randycolby And welcome to the forum. That is absolutely not right and not sure what is going on here. Can you give us some more info on your setup OS/DAW etc? Try reinstalling DC Snares and check your sample rate settings in your DAW.
I run Windows 11 on an i5-13600 with 32GB Ram.
I run Ableton Live Suite 12.
I already reinstalled the latest version of DC Snares (1.2) to no avail.
I generally run at 48Khz, but tried running at 44Khz to no avail.
I’m really not sure what is causing the problem.
This is almost certainly related to some kind of CPU overload / Audio Driver issue and very strange that it is exclusive to DC Snares as we haven’t had any other reports of this nature.
Check latency monitoring and check your audio drivers. Maybe this thread may help:
Let us know how you go.
Do you have a audio interface? Ableton is known to produce clicking and crackling sounds when you don’t use external asio audio interfaces. In Ableton never ever use the windows default sound engines..
I already responded to that the last time you said the same thing.
