Question about applying Motions .. on Divisi tracks in Scaler 3.2

Hi,

I’m exploring Scaler 3.2 and working with Divisi for multi-voice chord setups. I want to clarify something regarding workflow limitations:

Is it possible to assign Motion clips or any rhythmic patterns directly to individual Divisi tracks within Scaler 3.2? Or are the Divisi tracks strictly limited to note distribution without independent rhythmic processing?

Understanding this will help me plan whether I need to handle rhythm externally in my DAW or if it can be managed fully inside Scaler.

Thank you for your clarification.

Best regards

Hi @Leander Not at the moment they only apply to chords. It gets a little tricky with some of the motions given their varied voicing. It does seem that users would like this though, so I wonder if we could implement an ‘Auto Divisi’ which splits a Motion track across MIDI Outputs in a similar way we did with S2 (1=All, 2-Voice 1, 3 Voice 2 etc).

@Leander in the meantime you might find Venomode’s Phrasebox2 useful for this purpose - it can do both the splitting of an input chord into separate channels and the rhythm programming too. Take a look.

That would be great - for example for ostinatos!

I also found the divisi feature to be limited in its current state. I like the motions though. I’m in Studio One/Studio Pro and i just dragged the motion on a track an instrument track in the daw and the main track into the chord track, copied it to multiple tracks, and transposed the midi for the third fifth on a couple of the tracks. Then turned on chord follow and used the freeze midi or audio (sorry can’t remember the exact option). It worked really well. I’m sure other daws have similar features.
