In the attached photo note that the octave of the performance track shifts octaves at measure 41. I got here by: I clicked on a chord in the main track where the performance track did not have a clip and then clicked on the performance track. Scaler inserted a clip under the chord. I dragged the clip handle to the right to expand this clip over the next 5 chords. The chord sequence is repeated over the expanded clip, So at measure 41 even though the same chords are in the main track, Scaler decided to perform the second set in a different octave. I did not do any adjustment such as +/- Octave in the original chord which was assigned the playback motion, or the copies. This unexpected shifting of octaves has happened under different circumstances but in this example I took note of what occurred.
Hi, your chords are changing at Bar 41 From your A Maj / E to D Maj. The voicing of those chords dictate the performances. Scaler 3 won’t jump octaves without reason. Can you attach an image of the voicing of those two chords? Select just those two chords and let’s see them side by side in the MIDI editor. Pretty confident this is normal behaviour and not a bug.
You are correct, the first two chords were set to open voicing. So in this 5 chord sequence I set all the chords to Voicing=None, Octave Shift=0 then deleted the performance clip and recreated it. The octave shift still occurred after the first D chord as shown in the image. There’s something different about this chord that is not evident in the adjustment settings. I suspect the issue maybe a matter of how that chord was inserted into the main track; dragged from Circle of 5th vs, modulation suggestion vs. scale chords, etc. Has this been reported? I will have to experiment but it seems I’ve noticed that chords sound different depending on how they are added.
