No sound coming from scalar 2

Hello,
I’m an infrequent scalar 2 user but my interest in scaler 3 has prompted me to re visit the software. after installing scaler 2 on my Mac M1, authorizing and then running in my DAW I get no audio from the software? everything is firing from my midi keyboard, and I have opened and second track armed it and loaded a vst instrument which works fine, so I know my audio routing is correct. I have rebooted my Mac, reinstalled the program but I’m still getting the same result, the only thing I note is that the .flac files in the sound location under preferences is greyed out? please advise… thank you.

Hi @Rickey67 and welcome to the forum. Sounds like some kind of permissions issue on your end. Have you let Scaler 2 install naturally (rather than custom folder or moving sounds folder)? Does scaler have permission so install sounds at your user location. This one may need some investigating on your own behalf.

Hi Davide,

Thanks you for your suggestion I’ll dig into it!

Hi @davide
Should scalar appear in launchpad? I can only see scalar settings in launchpad!

Scaler 2 won’t appear in Launchpad as there is no standalone version. It needs to be used as a plugin in a compatible host/DAW. Given your interest in Scaler 3 it’s worth noting that Scaler 3 will run as a standalone app, as well as a plugin. But not Scaler 2.

Hello all. So my scalar 2 “no sound” support issue went silent!
So, after trying the suggested fixes on this forum which did not work! I opened up the file path on my Mac today went into the sounds folder and opened up one of the Flac files which played nicely in itunes. I then went back to my DAW (studio one) started an instance of scalar and lo and behold I’m hearing the default piano! So my question is What’s going on there?
