Multi-Track String & Brass Section Feature Request
Hi, Scaler team!
I’d love to see an advanced String & Brass Section MIDI Output feature that allows us to generate and separate orchestral instruments within a chord progression. Here’s what I mean:
Feature Request
• When a chord is played, Scaler should automatically distribute the notes across different sections (Strings: Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Double Bass / Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba) according to proper orchestration rules.
• Each instrument should be assigned its own MIDI channel in the same MIDI clip, so we can drag and drop it into our DAW as a multi-track MIDI file.
• Octave ranges and proper voicings should be applied to keep orchestration realistic.
• Optionally, let us choose different voicing styles (e.g., closed/open voicing, divisi or unison options).
Example MIDI Distribution
String Section (for a C Major chord)
• Violin I → E5 - G5 (Melody)
• Violin II → C5 - E5 (Inner voice)
• Viola → G3 - C4 (Lower harmony)
• Cello → C3 (Bass support)
• Double Bass → C2 (Fundamental bass)
Brass Section (for a C Major chord)
• Trumpet → G4 - C5 (Lead melody)
• French Horn → E3 - G3 (Middle harmony)
• Trombone → C3 - E3 (Lower harmony)
• Tuba → C2 (Bass foundation)
This feature would be a huge time saver for composers, producers, and orchestrators working with MIDI-based orchestral arrangements. If possible, a drag & drop function to export the separated MIDI tracks into the DAW would make it even more powerful.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this! Thanks for considering.
