Mixing with DAW stock effects

Hi folks

Let me stop polluting the other thread because mix & max tools are not always AI-based

Today I am reasoning about the effect redundantcy, and how it can easily smash a mix

I’ll put here what I found, and why I happily uninstalled my last Toon’s plugin

Look at the pictures below: those plugins have tons of embedded effects!

So my reasoning is: if you put a mix effect on each plugin, and also in the Master track, you’ll end to:
apply multiple effects without even realizing what you’ve done!
AND
compared to sound-techs that are supposed to know what they are doing, you are creating a random soup of similar/identical/conflicting effects: is it worthy, or we are just messing it up?

In the past I was criticized by @jamieh (no more here, what a shame) because I was regularly smashing my mixes: he was right, but only today I got the essence of the problem!

I uninstalled ezmix and started using just Bitwig mixer sliders & pots
then I added a teaspoon of reverb and a pinch of air on the sides: bingo!

I created a mix that satisfy my ears a LOT MORE, and it’s very simple to implement
I’ll follow this path forever

my 2 cents of a budding sound-tech
