Hello all:

I’m using Scaler 3.3.1 on Windows and I am unable to adjust the visible range of the keyboard by scrolling with the mouse wheel allowing you to view lower or higher octaves. It does not work. Did I miss something or is it a bug?

Hi @JorgeGrundman and welcome to the community.

Well, this is not a bug. The purpose of scrolling with a mouse is to move left/right while in the chord area, not to move octaves of the virtual keyboard. In combination mouse + Ctrl or Shift key, you can zoom/unzoom chords.

But if you need to see more than four octaves, you can do it by horizontally resizing the UI either by dragging the right border of the plugin (1) or stand-alone, or dragging the small triangle at the right lower corner of the interface (2)

Many thanks for your kind answer.

According to the User Guide, in page 91, it shows:

“You can adjust the visible range of the keyboard by scrolling with your mouse wheel, allowing you to view lower or higher octaves”. This was the reason to write in the forum. Note “scrolling with your mouse wheel” not resizing the UI.

In addition, and regarding the workaorund you provide, I’m still unable to view the complete piano keyboard of 88 notes. So if you are working with MIDI input, you are not able to see notes under C1 or higher that B5. I do not find any workaround for this issue in the forum.

So, or it is a bug or a wrong description in the manual. In any case and if it is not a feature that version 3.3.1 has, is there a way to request this?

@Tristan @Steven Can you please explain how keyboard moving is supposed to work?I have never had problem because I have a huge screen so I could always fit as many keys as I needed.

Hi @Miki yes a lot of zooming behaviour changed in the recent 3.3 update, so you can now access more keys on the instrument panel by resizing the window horizontally. You can also make the whole interface smaller by dragging diagonally to create more room do expand horizontally.

The user guide does mention scrolling to view different instrument panel octaves which is no longer supported in Scaler 3.3. However there is really no reason this needs to be omitted. So we have made a note to re-introduce this feature in a future update.
