Shifting played keys when using computer keyboard?

When I use my computer’s keyboard and I hit a, s, d it plays C4, D, E and I can’t figure out how to shift it down so that it will play C4, D E, for example. I am sure it is staring me right in the face, but I can’t find it. I checked the manual, too (searched for keyboard, computer, and shift) Thanks!

anyone have an idea on this one?

Do you mean moving the bound area? if so same as Scaler 2. In Settings

Thanks Davide, but this is not the solution. This only move thes the binded keys octave.
I’m looking to trigger notes on the qwerty keyboard further down the virtual keyboard notes

(at present the letter A is triggering the C4note , letter S the D4note and so on..) I can’t seem to find how, for examlpe to make the qwerty transpose and trigger notes of a lower octave)

In others programs/DAWs one can use the Z and X keys to shift the notes that are played by the ASDF (white) and upper row (black) QWER keys, usually by an octave.

So, can this be done? I’ve tried using key combos but haven’t stumbed upon it if one exists for Scaler 3

My post about using Z and X were about other plugins and DAWS, not Scaler 3 (as far as I can tell). thanks.

Please, any update on this ?

Which DAW are you using? In Ableton and Logic I just use the Z and X keys to shift octaves (you need to ensure Scaler 3 is not in focus - click on the DAW).

At times I just like to doodle about using just the laptop keyboard as my input. To get it to work I have to first “press” a key/note on the virtual scaler keyboard with the mouse (is this a bug?) This enables the keyboard on the laptop (A to L + Q to P).

This enables it only momentarily. If I do some other operation,(ie choose a different motion) then I have to go through the mouse press operation again to enable it

Furthermore, the laptop plays very high (C4 upwards) , How do I get it to play further down the virtual keyboard/octave ?

I recall with Scaler 2 I could move up and down an octave on the laptop keyboard by pressing z or x . This is not the case with scaler 3 .

Thanks for your time and patience

Davide thank you for your reply.

I have no problem when using Scaler3 with my DAW (Ableton).

The problem I encounter, described above, happens when I boot up the Scaler3 stand alone, without the DAW.

Aha! Sorry. Not even sure I had considered this. Let us look into it and see what is possible.

Many Thanks, I appreciate your time and patience.

Any update on this ?

Hi we have this planned for 3.2 due Q3. Until it’s looked at in the relevant sprint it’s an unknown.

3.1.1 Still not fixed.
Any chance of looking into this ?

Thank you for your timea and patience

Hi @Moondog. This is on our list of improvements for Scaler 3.2, which we’re planning to release in October. Cheers.
