Hi pals
I tried to activate Jamstix MIDI multi-out feature, but my version of Bitwig clearly doesn’t allow it, YUK
I also tried Cantabile that doesn’t have this limitation, and maybe I found a way to output each drum on a different channel
I clicked on Plugin Properties, then Map all channels, and now I have all 8 channels
My goal is to see if EZmix applied to each single drums makes the sound better, compared to using EZmix on the whole set
After having tested the workflow above I can say it doesn’t work: no sound out apart Stereo Out 1
Any suggestion?
Well, it works in Cantabile at least, if set as showed in the Reaper link below (suggested by @Miki)
Don’t forget that Jamstix has two different places where you need to set up your outputs. In the kit window you assign the routing (which drums go where, which drums get put together), and in the mixer you tell JS how many outputs it has to play with.
but it seems to me that if you set the Kit window and then the Mixer window, the kit is deleted, so I think you should set the Mixer window, then the Kit window
then you have to create the outputs AND also the channels as showed below
(here you see just 2, but you can create 8 stereo or 16 mono)
And now it works, and I can apply a different effect on each drum
BTW, it seems that the Mono channel is unassigned, but it is actually assigned to 1, 2, etc.
Unfortunately, Cantabile doesn’t have a template for Jamstix, and setting even a drummer as simple as Less is better (5 pieces) is too much cumbersome to me, so I’ll use just one EZmix for the whole stuff, but maybe that others will find my tips useful
cheers
