Is 'Force into Scale' available for detected MIDI?

Hello.

As soon as I load a song or artist in from the dropdowns, a padlock icon appears on the left of the UI (from which I can choose to ‘force into scale’). There are also controls to transpose the progression.

Those options aren’t available if I use the detect feature and play in some chords. The scale I’m playing in is detected correctly in the middle section though.

I was wondering if I’m overlooking something, or whether those controls aren’t meant to be available for detected MIDI

Here’s a video if the above description isn’t clear

Hi @EricJames

those controls are not available from the Detect screen. There is a workaround, you can transfer the chords to Section C, then press Save and give your chord set a name:

This will open the chords as a chord set in Section A, allowing you to force your chords into any scale.

Ah yes, I should have thought of that! Thank you, Edouard. Much appreciated.

Thanks for a good answer to a good question. I’d not realized this, but the Save Set is a great workaround. I’m not sure I’d call it a “workaround.” This is more of a simple method. The Force options are a very powerful function offered in Scaler.
