Hey there!
Bought Scaler 3 on Black Friday and thinkered with it for a couple of weeks now.
I mostly use the Explore section of Scaler 3 to quickly get an idea of the chords of my project.
Problem is, I’m not sure how to figure out in which scale the progression I made ends up in.
Since I most often use Dynamic Scale, each chord I click changes the “Dynamic Scale” value. From my understanding, it only takes into account the last chord played. With that in mind, how can I know for exemple in which scale the last 4 chords I played were? Do they technically fit together in a scale? By hear I can tell it’s coherent, but my lack of music theory gets in the way when I want to add instruments after the chords got exported to MIDI. (Such as a bassline, adding harmonics from other synths, etc).
Right now I use the “scale” feature of Ableton to highlight the notes in the midi section which belongs in the selected scale or not, which gives me clues as to which scale I’m in, but I feel like I’m missing something here.
Does anyone have a similar workflow / usecase and could enlighten me?
Thanks!
