Frequent Crashes in Reaper

Reaper is randomly crashing when using midi and Scaler 2
Have midi file created by Scaler and if I try to navigate along the timeline, Reaper crashes. It is pretty random and can happen when doing other things like adding midi notes, selecting midi notes, deleting midi notes etc
I am not using the Scaler built in sounds. Using Scaler with VST synths (various)
I have tried a new file with no other VST’s apart from Scaler and the same crashes occur. Reaper is stable until I add Scaler (no crashes until Scaler is added)
Uninstalled Scaler and re-installed.
This is a recent problem and I have been using Reaper and Scaler for years with no issues.

Reaper 7.1.8 64bit
Scaler 2.9 Windows 10
Core i7
16gb ram

since it’s been 6 days, i will thrown in my 2¢.

7.1.8 is still new. install 7 and try scaler.

you’ve probably already done so, but if not, post to reaper forums.

consider placing scaler in its own vst directory. reference only that directory in paths, no other vsts.

I use the combination of Reaper 7.18 and Scaler 2.9.0. I had some random crashes, similar to yours, during the beta testing but now everything seems OK.
I believe that you probably use VST2 format. I use VST3 and, as I mentioned, do not have issues. I would recommend you to try dragging VST3 to your track and see.

A little bit about where to put VST plugins.
Personaly, I save VST3 on my external SSD in the “VST3” folder and VST2 in “VST2” folder. Just to find them quickly

Update: The new version Tristan provided has done the trick.
No crashes after 2 days of usage. So problem solved.

Great support.
Thanks Tristan

I recently bought Scaler and I have been having some crashes in Reaper as well. I’m using 7.19 on the Mac running Ventura, and I have Scaler 2 version 2.9 installed. Using VST 3. Seems to crash when I tried to adjust voice grouping parameter.

Opened Scaler in Abelton Live Lite 11 and I could adjust the voice grouping with crashing the plug-in there.

Hi @kingsinger Welcome to the forum, as per post above these issues experienced with Reaper users have been fixed and a Scaler 2.9.1 will be available soon at Plugin Boutique. Expecting that to be available within a week. Watch this thread for a notification https://forum.scalermusic.com/t/scaler-2-latest-version-updates
