Forgive me if the solution to this has been posted elsewhere, I did search but all the most useful responses I found amounted to “make sure your DAW is configured properly” with no details on how, or “reboot fixes it” which it didn’t for me.
No matter which version of the plugin I try (Control, Audio, same story with Detector also), I cannot get it to record midi from DAW playback. Live input via keyboard works just fine, and audio input works as expected, but not DAW playback.
Even using the Scaler instrument plugin on another track, and routing the midi to that track doesn’t work - Scaler receives the midi, the keys light up and it plays sounds, but the detect part is always just ‘waiting for input’. never detecting.
What am I missing?

Edit: As always I made progress on the problem immediately after posting about it!
I managed to get the Detector Control plugin working - just had to move it after the orange ‘Record MIDI to Track Here’ markers in the MIDI FX slots. Now that’s working as expected.
No such luck with Scaler itself though, so some insight into that would still be lovely
