Beginner with Scaler 2

Hello,
I have a midi melody I have in Logic Pro X. What can I do with it with Scaler 2? Please excuse my ignorance, but I am not sure how to use this software with the MIDI I have already recorded.

Thanks for your help.

In February 2021 Davide answered to one user with quite a similar problem :
“Get scaler to detect the key and scale in which it will then show you the (diatonic) chords belonging to that scale. When a note in your melody hits, play the corresponding chord. Filter out enough chords that you are left with a chord progression that feels nice and goes with the melody. From there, use scale and try performances, melodies, rhythms, phrases etc. hope that helps.”

Thanks, Miki. I guess what I want to do is I have recorded a MIDI melody in Logic Pro X, and I want Scaler 2 to analyze it. So far I have figured out how to capture MIDI that I play on my keyboard, but not how to capture pre-recorded MIDI.

I think this should be the same approach. You import (I do not know how because it depends on DAW) to the track with Scaler, then click on the recording button and start play on your DAW’s transport. I tried to record a short video yesterday, but had problems with audio. Il try this evening (EST), after the job.

Thanks, Miki! I will look forward to seeing it.

OK, I did something. [Test OBS]
(OBS _ test.mp4 - Google Drive)

So, I drag a .mid file from Windows Explorer and drop it to the track where I set Scaler 2.
I enable recording (red button) and then play the file. Notes and/or chords are captured and are in the section A (top).
For each note in the section A, I searched the chord with similar name in the section B, drag it and drop in the section C. If there is a chord in the Section A, it can be dragged directly to section C (not in my video).
As some notes and chords can be found in different scales, it is worth trying in other scales in the middle section. For example, after I finished recording, I tried several scales that match 6/6 which means 100% of chords are found in such a scale. Finally, I think that instead od Bb Major, better choice is G minor scale. Accordingly, I replaced by ear some original chords with some from G Minor. Maybe it is not still 100% exact match, but I should tweak them more.

Hi, Miki,
I’m really sorry for the delay. Would you be able to give me the link to your movie again?

Hi @deadline688,

No problem.
The link is just below the first line in my previous post (in parenthesis), but I repeat it here:
