I personally would not want an autosave on any of my music apps as I am regularly experimenting and don’t want anything saved unless I choose to. Do you mean autosave as you work or if and when software crashes? That latter is a good suggestion but ideally S3 doesn’t crash although using third party apps that’s almost impossible!

I have just lost my mornings work again.
I was working in the app not in my DAW as hitting the space bar was setting off the Daw and not Scaler 3.
I picked up a verse and chorus in the arrange page (a fairly complex sequence) and accidentally dropped it where I shouldn’t…Spinning beach ball forever.
I find when you are in the flow you forget to save…. A couple of lines of code could save many hours of lost work…
I appreciate it may not be the way you want to work but it could be a option in settings?
I’ll just have set a timer on my watch for now and hope….

Hi @Gerry I think the priority here is no spinning beach ball and we want to control everything we can so if you ever do get any kind of a crash or any kind of weird behaviour please let us know and we can address those. I find it super stable and I’ve gotta be honest - It never crashes for me. That’s the most important thing. I think an auto save for when it crashes is a good idea and it’s on our list now thank you.
I would also like an auto save option. Logic Pro does this when exiting a project or close down so you never lose where you are. There could be an option where you can revert to a manual save for more control for those that don’t want to overwrite happy accidents. Also a toggle in settings for auto-save so those dont want it need’nt bother.
At any rate, saving needs love in Scaler 3. Unless I’m missing something I have to retype my saved preset whenever I want to save an edit which is SUPER clumsy and frustrating on iPad. I frequently lose work because of this and bare minimum, I should be able to just tap the save icon to save a previously saved preset.
I think this should be high priority as losing work for any reason is expensive for professionals.

There’s an update for iPad we are testing at the moment! If we are happy we will release it or send to beta!
We have added iPad preset interoperability so user presets can be imported from Files/iCloud, exported back out as .s3p files, and optionally saved directly to the iOS Files folder.
The iPad build now exposes a Files-visible Scaler folder for public presets, shows those under a “Public Folder” category, and supports export/delete actions for user/public presets from the preset popup.
User chord-set XML imports can also be dropped into the Files-visible ChordSets/Imported folder and picked up by Scaler.
I really just want to be able to tap and save the project/preset I’m currently working on without having to rename it each time I make changes which is save as behavior.
Yep on our list for 3.3 desktop and iPad too!
