Although I do own Scaler 3, I find do actually do still use Scaler 2 for some things including changing chord menus quickly to audition chords while writing and the keys lock chord notes smaller octave changes while playing. It’s unlikely Scaler 2 has been testing officially and fully since it has been replaced, but before I upgrade OS is it known if the desktop and iPad versions of Scaler 2 seem to work in the new MacOS 27 and iPad OS 27?
Good question. We don’t have any systems on Golden Gate or iPadOS27 (the latter we will move to soon) but I can’t imagine why S2 wouldn’t work.
Two things:
Scaler 3.4 is introducing an all new Suggest Mode. It’s a radical and immediate shift toward discovering chords right there without having to go anywhere an it looks amazing.
Scaler 3.3.2 is due very soon with some changes to how Chord Notes work. Unless I am mistaken it should help you with that.
Maybe you can let go of S2 from there!

Since the topic has come up now, I’ll tell you what is that the chord selecting and maybe the new update will be helpful (or maybe there is better way I could be doing it that I haven’t realized yet), or maybe something in the future can be. If i have some chords in section C and want to audition new chords from section B to find the right chord combination it’s faster in Scaler 2 to rapidly change between different menus of chords in Section B. In Scaler 3 I have to press a button in section B that brings up a menu that covers the screen then it may be another one or two more button presses to select a new type of chord and you also can’t see what the chords are or play anything until the menu closes. Also since i am testing chords in section B and C, although in neither version can you play two overlapping chords in Scaler 2 just nothing happens whereas in Scaler 3 if if my finger is still on a button a Sec C chord and I press a Section B chord accidentally too soon it brings up another menu that then has to be closed. I use the iPad for that (the desktop I use more for playing). Looking forward to the new updates!
