I just reinstalled Scaler 3.1.3 because voice grouping was no longer working. After reinstalling, Cubase 14 crashes every time I try to load the VST3 version of Scaler 3. I can open the stand-alone version normally. I can no longer open any of my projects that contain Scaler without Cubase crashing. Please help.
Sorry for the “panicked” post. After restarting Windows, everything seems to be working normally again. No more crashes, and I can reopen older projects.
However, voice grouping still doesn’t work at all.
Hi I’ve not heard of any case where voice grouping is not working. I wonder what’s going on. Can you give some more examples or share a video or screenshot? Thanks.
Hi Davide! Sorry for the late reply. It seems that voice grouping only works if you have selected a key in the “B Section.” If you try to create a chord progression using only the circle of fifths or the search chord function on the Create Page, voice grouping does not work at all. I was able to reproduce the bug and made a short video. I hope this helps.
I also found another bug related to voice grouping. For example, a “13 sus4 chord” is cut off in some voice grouping presets. I haven’t encountered this issue with other chords so far. I made a short video about this as well.
Hi @deleteallcharacters None of these things you point out are bugs. The Circle of Fifths page is a little odd in that it enables you to create chords so actually we should be blocking the use of modifiers there as we are trying to remain in ‘Edit’ mode and retain your voicing. Just like Scaler 2 really. Best to move away from the C05 page when using modifiers like Voice Grouping. We are working to ‘block’ modifiers whilst in this page.
